GALLERY 4: LOCAL COLOR
One gloomy April, impatient for an early spring that wasn't coming, I decided to try something dramatic. I wanted paintings filled with brightness, spontaneity, and optimism. I abandoned many of my usual tools and began working on the floor of my studio, allowing gravity, drops, and splashes to become part of the process. As the paintings evolved, flowers, trees, and garden-like forms began to grow. The resulting "Local Color" series became an unexpected celebration of nature, color, and spring.
April was no longer a gloomy month.
